INFORMACIÓN

La Hoofdklasse es una competencia de fútbol dentro de los Países Bajos. Es equivalente a la segunda división de fútbol. El formato consiste en una fase de grupos. Los grupos -que son seis-, juegan el sábado y el domingo, y éstos tienen asignados sus grupos y equipos, dependiendo de la ubicación geográfica. La serie se disputa con tres grupos el día sábado, al igual que el día domingo, y una vez finalizado el proceso, el líder de cada grupo clasifica a una liguilla final. La segunda fase la componen los tres líderes de grupo, y juegan en una fase grupal, y el ganador del día sábado (el que sume más puntos) jugará la final contra el ganador del día domingo, a doble instancia, en los estadios de los finalistas. A su vez, ostenta un cupo a disputar la Copa de los Países Bajos de la próxima temporada. Los dos últimos de cada grupo descienden a la Eerste Klasse (tercera división), mientras que el 12º clasificado de cada grupo jugará promoción contra otros equipos de la tercera categoría.
