Notes.
1. As U.P.A.O. declined to participate only 11 teams took part in this
tournament. Only 1 leg of matches was played as the tournament was delayed
because of some problems.
2. Meteor Sport Club merged with Deportivo Junín therefore changing its name to
Meteor - Junín.
3. Deportivo Yurimaguas and Universitario de América reverted to their original
names: Hijos de Yurimaguas and América Cochahuayco, respectively.
4. No team was promoted as Hijos de Yurimaguas lost a playoff against Deportivo
Municipal (last but one team on First Division).
5. A playoff match was played between Deportivo Zúñiga and Virgen del Chapi to
determine the relegated team.
6. For 1999: Lawn Tennis was relegated from First Division; Telefunken 20 and
Aviación-FAP were promoted from Copa Perú.
7. For 1999: Sport Agustino changed its name to Sporting Cristal B.
